Objective:The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the new training model of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).We introduce the "Chest Compressions Pithy Formula" training with a 100 times/min "metronome" guiding the frequency of compression to the new nurse training of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR),which aims at improving the quality of chest compressions, achieving appropriate compression depth and accurate compression frequency, providing a new method and creating a new pattern for high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)training. Methods:The experiments were carried out in two stages.During years 2013 to 2014,417 new nurses were randomly divided into experimental group and control group according to the random number tables.Control group received the conventional training methods, while the experimental group got the "Chest Compressions Pithy Formula" training on the basis of conventional ones. Both of the two groups would take the operation tests on day 7.Adopting the method of "Solomon" four groups design,385 new nurses enrolled during 2015-2016 were divided into the control group with before-measuring(control group 1),the experimental group with before-measuring(experimental group1),the control group without before-measuring(control group 2)and the experimental group without before-measuring(experimental group2).The control groups achieved the conventional training and the "Chest Compressions Pithy Formula" training,in addition to which the experimental groups also got the training with a 100 times/min "metronome"guiding the frequency of compression. All of the four groups would perform an operation test on day 7.Results:The first phase:for the nurses enrolled between 2013 and 2014,the mean score of the experimental group(93.44±1.7)was greater than the control group(91.0±3.8),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).The fault number of the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group with regard to the compression posture, compression method, compression depth, compression frequency and the observation of patients' faces. There was no difference between two groups on the fault number of compression position. The second phase:for the nurses enrolled between 2015 and 2016,"Solomon" four groups design was adopted. There was no statistically difference in scores between experiment group1 and control group1 before training. However, the mean score of experiment group1 was greater than control group1 after training. The analysis of covariance showed that before-training scores have some effects on the after-training scores(P<0.001).After adjusted with before-training scores, the difference between experiment group1 and control group1 was statistically significant(P=0.007).There was no interaction between before-training score and the training methods. The decrease of fault numbers in experimental group1 was statistically different to control groupl with regard to the compression posture. However, our data shows that there was no difference between two groups when it comes to the other 5 aspects. There was statistically difference in mean scores between experiment group2(93.5±3.5)and control group2(92.1±4.0).The fault numbers of experimental group 2 and control group 2 were statistically different with regard to both the compression depth and frequency.Besides, there was no difference between two groups on the other 4 aspects. Conclusion:In the new nurse training of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR),adding the"Chest compressions Pithy formula" training along with 100 times/min"metronome" guiding the compression frequency could significantly enhance the new nurses' memory of the key points in chest compressions, effectively reduce the fault numbers of the compression positions and methods, control and stable the compression frequency, ensure effective compression depth and improve the chest compression quality. In conclusion, this new method mentioned above is simple and effective for improving the quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)training, which also make it be worth of popularization and application.
