Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to investigate the occupational hazards and protective behavior of nursing students, so as to define the necessity of carrying out the effective intervention on nursing occupational hazards during learning period and making corresponding intensive training in terms of the related factors of occupational hazards, which attach great importance to the protective occupational hazards for the higher vocational education and provide theoretic basis for opening targeted occupational protection training courses, so as to enhance the cognition of occupational protection of higher vocational college,strengthen the consciousness of occupational hazard protection, perfect protection behavior and minimize nurses occupational hazards incurred during the process of working.Methods: It takes nursing students and interns, a total of two grades of 329 nursing students,as the research subject from vocational college, carrying out questionnaire survey (a) and questionnaire survey (b) respectively to evaluate the occupational hazards and protection behavior. SPSS 19.0 statistical software was used to deal with the data analysis and x2 was to testify the results.Results: In the survey of two grades of occupational protection attitude of nursing students,there are obvious differences between different grades (P< 0.05). Nursing students of different grades receive different professional education, in which junior nurses receive less professional education with poorer understanding of occupational protection compared with senior nursing students. In the grade 2013, compared with the professional protective attitude of nursing students before and after the intervention of survey, there are also obvious differences (P < 0.05). It shows that effective intervention can significantly improve the master degree of occupational protection knowledge of higher vocational nursing students.The questionnaire survey of occupational hazards which were carried out in the higher vocational nursing students in grade 2012 and 2013 shows that the nursing students who are trained in grade 2013 significantly improve the effectiveness of occupational protection compared with nursing students of 2012 grade. In the survey of the protection of occupational hazards of higher vocational nursing students in grade 2012 and 2013( P < 0.01) about eight questions, there are also significant differences between different grades. Nursing students in 2013 grade improved their self-protection awareness when facing occupational hazards significantly after effective intervention.Conclusion: 1. The consciousness of occupational hazard protection of nursing students is weak, the master degree of the relevant knowledge, especially the professional knowledge is not high with insufficient protection. 2. The course "Occupational hazard protection of nursing students" should be opened in the nursing profession in higher vocational colleges,the related course construction also should be carried out simultaneously. 3. Occupational hazard protection education of the nursing students of higher vocational college should be carried out thoroughly and completed in stages, which should infiltrate into each professional courses besides specialized courses. 4. Making systematic and standardize occupational hazards intervention can effectively improve the occupational protection consciousness and behavior of the nursing students, improving the ability of occupational hazard protection.
