Acupuncture for once a day and five times as a course and two days off between the total of four courses of treatment. The control group was given conventional acupuncture, once a day and five times as a course and two days off between the total of four courses of treatment. The following outcome measurements were assessed in two groups before treatment, after treatment and during follow-up:frequency of migraine attacks, visual analogue scale(VAS) score, migraine-specific quality of life questionnaire(MSQOL) score,self-rating depression scale(SDS) score and self-Rating anxiety scale(SAS) scores.Results:1.Baseline data:Gender, age, course, frequency of migraine attacks, visual analogue scale score (VAS),migraine-specific quality of life questionnaire (MSQOL), self-rating depression scale(SDS) and self-Rating anxiety scale(SAS),showed no statistical significance (P>0.05). They were comparable.2.Inter group comparison:After treatment and follow-up period, comparison between the two groups in frequency of migraine attacks, visual analogue scale(VAS) score,migraine-specific quality of life questionnaire(MSQOL),self-rating depression scale(SDS) and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS), differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).3.Inner group comparison:Before treatment and after treatment in each group, comparison between frequency of migraine attacks, visual analogue scale(VAS) score,migraine-specific quality of life questionnaire(MSQOL) score, self-rating depression scale(SDS) score and self-Rating anxiety scale(SAS) score, differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment and follow-up period in the treatment group comparison between frequency of migraine attacks, visual analogue scale (VAS) score,migraine-specific quality of life questionnaire(MSQOL) score,self-rating depression scale(SDS) score and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) score, showed no statistical significance (P>0.05).After treatment and follow-up period in the control group, comparison between frequency of migraine attacks,migraine-specific quality of life questionnaire (MSQOL) score, revealed statistical significance(P<0.05);comparison between visual analogue scale(VAS) score,self-rating depression scale(SDS) score and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) score, showed no statistical significance (P>0.05).Conclusions:1.Pricking blood therapy with acupuncture was effective in the treatment of migraine without aura, also can improve the quality of life and improve anxiety and depression.2.Pricking blood therapy with acupuncture in the treatment of migraine without aura had the long-term curative effect in following aspects:reducing the frequency of migraine, relieving the extent of pain, improving the quality of life and improving anxiety and depression.
