Objective: Postpartum depression is problem often encounted in postpartum women,postpartum depression is not only seriously affect the health of the mother’s physical health and maternal self efficacy,but also affect the healthy growth of the newborn through the influence of the mother and family relations.It aimed to reduce the postpartum depression and improve parenting self-efficacy by carrying on the family parenting guidance.Method: we used the multi-variable one factor design.Subjects are 30 mothers 3-15 days after delivery whose score on the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale(EPDS)above 10 points,but diagnostic criteria for DSM-Ⅳ postpartum depression have not yet been achieved.The subjects are coming from Maternity and child care hospital of Hunan Province.The oriteria for the research objects are:(1)the early maternal who had been pregnant for 37-42 weeks,and delivery term normal newborn.(2)20-35 years old.(3)Conscious,willing to work with and sign informed consent.(4)Married and having stable family relationship,Regular travel to the children’s health department to receive child care.We have screen 30 puerperas who have postpartum depression,and divided them into two groups.The one called experimental group including 16 mothers have the child rearing guidance,in contrast,other one including14 mothers,called control group do not have the intervention.Edinburgh Postnatal Depression on Scale(EPDS)and self-efficacy in Infant Care Scale(SICS)are used to measure the levels of maternal self-efficacy and postnatal depression before the trial grouping,1 month after delivery,2 month after delivery and 3 month after delivery.Result:(1)difference in the basic demographic variables:there was no significant difference on maternal age,birth,education and income and infant sex between the experimental group and the control group.(2)Comparison before intervention:In the experimental group and control group,the scores of F were 0.01 and 0.05 respectively,and no significant difference was detected between the control group and the postpartum depression.(3)Comparison after intervention :Experimental group and control group postpartum depression scores at 1 months postpartum,2 months and 3 months of F values were 29.88,48.07 and 99.24,respectively,the difference was significant at 0.01 level;In the experimental group and the control group,the F values were 3.26 and 1 respectively in the2 and 6.08 months,respectively,and the difference was significant at 0.05 level;At 3 months,the F value was 12.13,and the difference was significant at 0.01 level.(4)effect of intervention: Postpartum depression in the intervention of 1months,2 months and 3 months,the total score reduction rate of the experimental group were 14%,24% and 35%;Individualreduction rate of experimental group was 7%-43%,13%-47% and33%-67% While the control group was-7%-19%,-7%-25% and7%-28%.The effective number of the experimental group and the control group at 1 months were 8 and 0;the effective number of 2 months were 12 and 1,valid number of 1 people and 0 people;the effective number of 3 months were 12 and 4,respectively,3 valid and 0 respectively.The reduction rate increases gradually with the intervention.(5)Correlation analysis between parenting efficacy and postpartum depression:Maternal self-efficacy scores and postpartum depression scores at 2months after the intervention of the relevant-0.37,P ≤0.05,3 months related to-0.55,P < 0.01.Conclusion:(1)There was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the basic demographic variables.(2)The intervention effect of postpartum depression showed a significant decreasing trend over time.(3)The scores of maternal self-efficacy showed significant increasing trend.(4)The intervention effect was obvious,and the effective and above was achieved in 3 months.(5)Postpartum depression and maternal self-efficacy were significantly negatively correlated with intervention in 2months and 3 months.
