Analysis Of Curative Effect Of Wenyang Tongmai In Treating Knee Osteoarthritis

Objective: To treat KOA patients with the method of Wenyang Tongmai under the guidance of the theory of Qingyang from “Yellow Emperor” and to evaluate the pain relief,stiffness improvement and recovery of knee joint physiological activity after treatment.Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 120 patients who met the diagnostic criteria for knee osteoarthritis during the period from September 2015 to September 2016 in the Department of Orthopaedics and traumatology of Hubei Provincial Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital.Between the ages of 49-68 years,there were 45 male patients and 75 female patients.Using Qing Yang dialectical treatment for observation group,55 patients;Using blood dialectical treatment as control group,65 cases,including:(1)observation group: male 20 cases,female 35 cases,age from 49-64,the average age(56.60±7.25);Course of 3 months to 11 years,the average(5.47±5.45)years;(2)control group: male 25 cases,female 40 cases,age from 51-68,the average age(59.80±8.60);Course of five months to 10 years,the average(5.67±3.42)years.Observation group patients were treated according to Qing Yang dialectical huangqi guizhi wuwu decoction addition andsubtraction,the control group patients were treated according to the dialectical Seven fold scattered addition and subtraction,the treatment time of two groups patients was 3 weeks.Through the observation record visual analog pain score(VAS)score standard,the WOMAC osteoarthritis index to judge the clinical effect.Results: Of the 120 patients in the observation and control groups,102 patients were followed up for 3 months after treatment.After treatment,according to the visual analogue pain score(VAS)score,there was significant difference between the observation group and the control group in the improvement of pain after 3 weeks.According to the WOMAC osteoarthritis index evaluation,the observation group and the control group,the two groups within and between groups were statistically significant,the observation group treatment effect is superior to the control group.Conclusion: The treatment of knee osteoarthritis under the guidance of Qingyang theory is more beneficial to improve the pain,stiffness and joint physiological function of patients than to promote blood circulation,which greatly improves the patients’ quality of life,embodies the "Yellow Emperor" Qingyang theory of the advantages.
