Objective:To explore the action of immune function in Enterovirus Encephalitis(EVE)children by detecting the cytokines, lymphocyte subtypes, and activated T cell subtypes.Method:55 children with EVE hospitalized in the wards of department of neurology of The Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Medical School of Zhejiang University from June 2014 to January 2016 were selected as the experimental group.Cytokines, lymphocyte subtypes, and activated T cell subtypes were detected in 36,30,and 14 patients of the group respectively. While another 49 healthy children accepting physical check in the same period were selected as the control group.Flow cytometry was adopted to detect levels of cytokines including interleukin-2(IL-2),IL-4,IL-6,IL-10,tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-a),interferon-gamma(IFN-y),and cluster of differentiation antigens(CD)including CD25+/CD3+CD4+,CD69+/CD3+CD4+,HLA-DR+/CD3+CD4+,CD25+/CD3+CD8+,CD69+/CD3+CD8+,HLA-DR+/CD3+CD8+in the peripheral blood from both groups. Results:The level of IL-2 in the peripheral blood of the experimental group(3.529±1.037 pg/ml)was significantly lower than that of the control group(t=2.282,P=0.025).However,the level of IL-6 and TNF-α(41.628±84.687;2.911±1.597pg/ml)were significantly higher than those of the control group(Z=-3.575,P<0.001;Z=-3.531,P<0.001).The level of CD8 in the peripheral blood of the experimental group(24.115%±9.705%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(t=-2.315,P=0.023).Nevertheless,the level of CD4/CD8 in the peripheral blood of the experimental group(1.369±0.745)was significantly lower than that of the control group(Z=-2.075,P=0.038).The levels of CD69+/CD3+CD4+、CD69+/CD3+CD8+ in peripheral blood of the experiment group(1.193%±2.849%,0.696%±1.242%)were significantly lower than those of the control group(Z=-2.722,P=0.006;Z=-3.321,P=0.001).Conclusion:There is a certain degree of immune dysfunction in EVE patients.Cytokines, lymphocyte subtypes and activated T cell subtypes may participate in the pathogenesis of EVE. |
