As an important part of health administrative work under local governments, community health service plays a key role in the goal of "Universal Health Coverage to All". Community residents'satisfaction really matters a lot for they are the customers of the community health service. "Difficulties and high expenses in medical service" has been a long-standing problem in China while community medical service has grown the breakthrough of deepening urban health reform. Thus, it is imperative to perfect the community medical service and improve the residents' satisfaction of community medical service. Based on the background above, in this paper, Yiling District in Yichang City is chosen as the research site. An investigation of the residents'satisfaction of the community medical service is started, so as to offer suggestions on improving community health service from the perspective of residents'satisfaction. First, to clarify the theoretical basis of the research on the residents'satisfaction of community medical service and to complete the screening of satisfaction measurement indexes by learning from comparing classic satisfaction index models in China and America in combination with the policy environment and the actual situation in the research site, the satisfaction measurement index system of community medical service is established. Second, the questionnaire is formulated on the basis of evaluation system and five-level Liker scale for the score and evaluation is used in the satisfaction questionnaire. Through questionnaire surveys and home visits,284 valid samples are selected to do the investigation and data analysis. The analysis results show that community health service of Yiling District has made great achievements such as emerging convenience and gradually improved "Six in One" function. But generally speaking, the residents'satisfaction is low. Following are the existing problems:residents holding cognitive biases towards community health service, insufficient publicity, insufficient of the public health service ability, and defective dual referral system and so on. Finally, in combination with influencing factors of residents' satisfaction selected through multi-factor regression analysis and analyses of residents' low satisfaction and causes of that, some feasible suggestions on how to improve residents'satisfaction of community health service in Yiling District are put forward from the following four aspects:correcting residents' cognitive bias towards community health service, strengthening dual referral system, ensuring public benefit, and improving community health service as well as related medical equipments.
