Clinical Application For The Automated Stool Analyzer In The Stool Examination

Objective:1.The aim was to probe the clinical value by retrospectively analysis the data of the stool routine test in PLA general hospital.2. The aim was to evaluate the clinical value of the automated stool analyzerMethods:1. The positive percent were calculated including the red blood cell, white blood cell, parasitic ovum, occult blood, transferrin, helicobacter pylori antigen in stool samples.2.344 stool samples were detected by the automated stool analyzer and the manual method. The consistency were compared between the instrument and the manual method.3. Preparing cell matrix liquid to evaluate the repeatability and residual contamination rate of FA-180 feces analyze produced by Sichuan Orienter Company 2252 stool samples were analyzed with 2 automated stool analyzers. The manual microscopic method was the god standard method. The specificity and the sensitivity were used to observe the accordance between the 2 automated stool analyzers.4. The clinical feces specimens were analyzed with 3 automated stool analyzers, observing the sensitivity, specificity of red blood cells, white blood cells in feces detected by instrument.Results:1. The positive percent were color (11.07%,2137/19304), red blood cell (0.97%,187/19304), white blood cell (0.65%,125/19304), occult blood (4.56%, 880/19304), transferrin(3.51%,84,/2395), helicobacter pylori antigen (10.1%, 376/3718), respectively.2. The positive of the occult blood were automated stool analyzer (30.8%,106/344)& manual microscopic (36.9%,127/344), respectively. The Kappa value was 0.735.3. By counting the number of cells in samples after testing, the repeatability of red blood cells detected by FA-160 feces analyzer test was 8.6-18.7%, the repeatability of white blood cells was 10.1-13.9%, the residual contamination rate was 0;The sensitivity and the specificity were red blood cell (0.768 0.991) and the white blood cell (0.597 0.985) in one of the automated stool analyzers. The sensitivity and the specificity were red blood cell (0.886 & 0.992) and the white blood cell (0.605 & 0.988) in the other automated stool analyzers.4. There are fair consistency between the automated and the manual microscopy. (Kappa of red blood cells= 0.75～ 0.93, Kappa of white blood cell= 0.75～0.83)Conclusion:1. There is a lower clinical value for the stool examination.2. There are good accordance for the occult test between the automated stool analyzer and the manual method.3. There are fair consistency for the red blood cell and the white blood cell between the automated and the manual microscopy.
