Platycodonis Radix, for commonly used Chinese traditional medicine, firstly contained in the "Shen Nong’s Herbal Classic", as a low-grade,Li said: "this grass roots are strong and straight, so named as......." <The Chinese pharmacopoeia(2015 edition)> provides that Platycodon Grandiflorum comes from the dried roots of Campanulaceae Platycodon Grandiflorum A(Jacq.). DC. Platycodon Grandiflorum is produced in most parts of China,among which Northeast, North China larger output,quality is better in Eastern China.Platycodon Grandiflorum is bitter, acrid, flat, and owned by the lung.Platycodon Grandiflorum has the effect of releasing lungs,expectorant, pharynx, drainage efficacy,is used for the treatment of cough, phlegm, sore throat,lung abscess pus spit, and is effective,and has market demand for traditional Chinese medicine.Modern research shows that Platycodon Grandiflorum mainly contains oleanane type triterpenoid saponins,and has wide range of pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, expectorant, hypoglycemic, anti-tumor, etc.Medicinal materials quality and seed selection, planting, harvesting, processing, storage and other aspects are closely related.In this paper,We conducted a series of research, including the quality classification standard of Platycodon Grandiflorum seed,optimum germination conditions,the best storage conditions,etc.and provides a scientific basis on evaluating the quality of Hubei Yingshan Platycodon Grandiflorum seeds.And different growth period,different processing methods, different storage methodsin the main chemical components are studied to determine the optimal harvest period, the best processing methods and the best storage methods of Platycodonis Radix.1.Hubei Yingshan Platycodon Grandiflorum seed quality researchIn this paper, Platycodon Grandiflorum seeds will be divided into three levels, depending on the size of the different levels of seed, clarity, thousand seed weight, moisture content, germination rate, germination index, surface view, seedling growth characteristics and other indicators evaluated excellent Platycodon Grandiflorum seeds and determined the classification method.By comparing Platycodon Grandiflorum seeds, was processed by different light, temperature, germination bed, pretreatment reagents and storage conditions.the germination rate, germination potential, germination index to determine the optimum conditions for germination and storage conditions. In order to ensure the quality of Platycodon Grandiflorum seed and to provide experiment basis for propagation.2. Study on the best harvest time of Platycodonis RadixWe collectedwith different plant age and different growth period, conducted chemical analysis on Platycodon Grandiflorum with Platycodin D samples as major ingredient, and selected levels higher plant age and growth period with higher Platycodin D. Based on comprehensive evaluation, Ying Shan Platycodon Grandiflorum growth after two years in October- December good harvest.3. The best processing methods of Platycodonis Radix.The traditional processing method of Platycodonis Radix was peeled and dried. This experiment by comparing the levels of Platycodin D in the peeled platycodon grandiflorum, unpeeled platycodon grandiflorum or platycodon skin. The study found that, the skins of Platycodon Grandiflorum Platycodin D content is higher, peeled Platycodon Grandiflorum content is significantly lower than unpeeled Platycodon Grandiflorum, therefore, the traditional processing methods is questionable. and then, We compared of the cork, phloem and xylem, The results showed that, Platycodin D in cork is twice the phloem, xylem is five times, The results further prove that Platycodon Grandiflorum should not peel them. The fresh and unpeeled platycodon grandiflorum was divided into seven groups, natural dried, 50 ℃, 60 ℃, 70 ℃, 80 ℃, 90 ℃and 100 ℃.and then dried. According to the saponin D levels to determine the best drying temperature was 60 ℃.4.Thebestpackaging materials of Platycodonis RadixThe dried Platycodonis Radix with different packaging materials, placed in a cool ventilated place for six months, according to Platycodin D content level, Select the best storage method for drying Platycodonis Radix in corrugated carton to save after packed in plastic bags.
