Purpose:To investigate correlation between PT along with the onset of progression and plasma kisspeptin levels, which may be possible to point out a new direction of the early diagnosis and prognosis for the precocious puberty in infants and toddlers.Methodology:1. 42 PT female children(the age of first visit is less than 2 years old) who were diagnosed and treated in department of endocrine and genetics metabolism of Jiangxi Children’s Hospital from september, 2014 to March, 2016 are recruited as patient group. Subjects in the group were diagnosed with PT in their first visit to the hospital and were regularly followed up from the first visit(survey questionnaires were filled out by their parents).Among them, thelarche of 18 cases completely disappeared(CD group), 11 cases showed no regression or reappeared(RA group), and 13 cases were transformed into ICPP(ICPP group).35 age-matched cases were collected as the normal control group(survey questionnaires were also filled out by their parents).2. Compare plasma kisspeptin level of ICPP,CD, RA and normal control groups.3. Compare plasma kisspeptin level of RA,CD and normal control groups.4. Compare plasma kisspeptin level of CD and normal control groups.5. Carry on correlation analysis between kisspeptin levels of all groups and B-FSH,B-LH,E2,PRL,P-LH,P-FSH,P-LH/P-FSH, height, weight etc.6. ELISA(enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay) are performed in measuring kisspeptin level. T test or paired t-test,χ2 test, logistic regression analysis, Pearson analysis and variance analysis are applied for the resultsResult:1.The average level of plasma kisspeptin in ICPP group is(1.52 + 0.14ng/ml), while RA group is(0.73 + 0.12ng/ml), CD group(0.46 + 0.06ng/ml), and the control group(0.45 + 0.15ng/ml).2.The level of plasma kisspeptin in ICPP group is higher than that in RA,CD, and control groups. The difference is statistically significant(P<0.05)3.The level of plasma kisspeptin in RA group is higher than that in CD and control groups. The difference is statistically significant(P<0.05)4.The CD and control groups do not statistically significantly differ in terms of the levels of plasma kisspeptin(P=0.792).5.Plasma kisspeptin levels show positive correlationship with P-LH,P-LH/P-FSH, E2, and PRL levels.6.For the analysis of related risk factors, there are statistically significant differences between patient and control groups in terms of the inharmonious relationship in parents, menarche of younger age,PT existing in parents’ brothers and sisters, infants’ sleeping with light on in the night and habitual residence near factories of discharging pollutats, all of which are risk factors to PT.Conclusion:1.The plasma levels of kisspeptin in ICPP group,RA group,CD group and control group show a significant difference. The former is higher than the three latter.2.The plasma levels of kisspeptin in RA group,CD group and control group show a significant difference. The former is higher than the two latter.3.No statistically significant difference is found between CD and control groups in terms of the plasma kisspeptin levels. It is suggested that plasma kisspeptin level is closely related to precocious puberty of infants, and can be regarded as a critical reference for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ICPP and PT in infants.4.Inharmonious relationship in parents, menarche of younger age,PT existing in parents’ brothers and sisters, infants’ sleeping with light on in the night and habitual residence near factories of discharging pollutats are risk factors to PT.
