Objective:To look into the association between idiopathic central precocious puberty(ICPP) and familial short stature;To observe the serum concentration of Insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1) before and after treatment of gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue(GnRHa)in ICPP group,to investigate if IGF-1 may become a indicator of ICPP diagnosis and the effective index of GnRHa therapy for ICPP.Methods:1 Precocious puberty girls were divided into two groups:ICPP group including 43 cases and simple premature thelarche group(SPT group)including 41 cases;and 30 age-matched healthy girls as control group(C group)2 Compare the maternal age at menarche and height among ICPP,SPT and C group3 Linear correlation analysis was made between the age of breast development and maternal age at menarche,and height in ICPP girls4 Gonadotropin-releasing hormone(GnRH) stimulating test was made to compare the LH/FSH ratio at 30 and 60 minutes between ICPP and SPT,and observed the changes of LH/FSH and E2 after GnRHa treatment in ICPP group5 The serum levels of IGF-1 were compared between pre- and post-GnRHa therapy,and compared with C group respectively.Results:1.In ICPP group the chronological age(CA) was(8.14±2.14)years old,bone age(BA) was(10.59±2.47)years old,age of breast development was(6.94±1.53)years old,BA was significantly higher than CA(P<0.01).2.The LH/FSH ratio was 2.13±2.03 at 30 minutes,1.50±1.22 at 60 minutes in ICPP group,both of them were increased significantly when compared with SPT group respectively(P<0.01);LH/FSH ratio and E2 were significantly decreased after GnRHa therapy six months later(P<0.01).3.Maternal age at menarche in ICPP group were significantly lower than SPT group[(11.76±0.88)yrs vs(12.72±1.49)yrs,P<0.01]and than C group[(11.76±0.88)yrs vs(14.10±0.67)yrs,P<0.01).There was no significantly difference of them between SPT and C group(P>0.05).4.The maternal height in ICPP group was significantly lower than both SPT and C group[(154.72±3.49)cm vs(159.44±4.12)cm,(154.72±3.49)cm vs(158.42±2.57)cm P<0.01 respectively].5 There were significanly linear correlation between the age at breast development and maternal age at menarche and height in ICPP(p<0.01,respectively).6.The serum levels of IGF-1 were significantly elevated in ICPP group pre-GnRHa therapy than post-GnRHa therapy,and than C group respectively(P<0.01),but still higher post-GnRHa therapy when compared with C group(P<0.01).Conclusions:1 There was a inheritance trend in ICPP btween mothers and daughts2 There was a positive correlation btween height and second sexal development age in part ICPP girls and their mothers3 The serum concentration of IGF-1 were useful index for diagnosis and treatment effect... |
