| Objective: By observing its clinical effect in the treatment of early diabetic nephropathy, the Compound Xiancao granule’s effectiveness and safety is evaluated and its mechanism of action is discussed in this paper. Methods: 60 hospitalized patients with I-III Diabetic nephropathy and deficiency of both spleen and kidney, blocking of dampness-heat in TCM syndrome differentiation were selected from Ruikang Hospital Afillicated to Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine and randomly assigned into a control group of 30 cases and a treatment group of 30 cases. The control group was treated with western therapy by routinely reducing blood sugar, controlling blood pressure, moderating exercise and other basic treatment.Correspondingly, the treatment group was treated with same method, but additionally with use of 27 g of the Compound Xiancao granule for three times per day.The treatment courses of both groups lasted 3 months, and the observation on the clinical sign of patients before and after the treatment and on index of urine(ACR,Cyst C,UAER,Uβ2-MG),blood glucose(FPG、2hPG and Hb Alc),Hcy,c Tn T were to compare the curative effects of above two methods respectively applied in two groups.Results:1.The overall clinical efficacy on two groups has significant difference(P<0.05).The total effective rate of control group is 55.17% and the the total effective rate of treatment group is 85.71%(P<0.05).2.A more significant decrease in syndrome score of TCM in treatment group is noticed while both groups’ syndrome score of TCM show a decline(P<0.01).3.Both groups’ ACR,UAER,Uβ2-MG,UCyst C,Hcy and cTnT are decending post treatment(P<0.01),but the decline of those indexes in treatment group is comparatively more apparent(P<0.01).4.The patients’ FPG,2hPG and HbAlC show reduction after treatment in both groups, but no obvious difference in the comparison of above indexes between two groups is revealed(P>0.05).Conclusion: The compound Xiancao granule is considered valid in:1.Reducing DN patients’ syndrome score of TCM;2.Improving renal function and decreasing the excretion of urinary protein;3.Assisting to control the blood glucose, while its clinical efficiency is not completely relying on the deduction of blood glucose. |
