Anti-abortion Effects Of Scutellaria Baicalensis On RU486-induced Abortive Mice

Objective:This study is designed to investigate anti-abortive effect and mechanism of Scutellaria baicalensis in Mifepristone-induced abortion models,mainly observed the effects that Scutellaria baicalensis makes on the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) and Survivin.Methods:Adopt pregnant Kunming mice,divide the mice into 4 groups randomly:Scutellaria baicalensis group, Progesterone group,model group and normal pregnancy group. Pregnant mices gived RU486 via gastrogavage on Day 7 of pregnancy were used as aborting model.Every group were given drug from Day 4 to Day 9.Take the embryo and placenta/uterus at the 9th day of pregnancy, observe the absorptivity of embryo,abortion ratio and pathological morphology in light microscope, detect each group the expressions of MMP-9 and Survivin by immunohistochemical method.Results:The model group of abortion ratio and embryo absorption rate are hingher than the normal pregnancy group(P<0.05).Compared with model group,The abortion ratio and embryo absorption rate of scutellaria baicalensis group and rogesterone group are significantly decreased(P<0.05),then the two groups show no significantly difference(P>0.05).Compared with normal pregnancy group,in model group,the expression level of MMP-9 obviously increased, the expression level of survivin obviously decreased(P<0.05).Compared with model group,in scutellaria baicalensis group and progesterone group,the expression level of MMP-9 obviously decreased, the expression level of survivin obviously increased(P<0.05).Between the scutellaria baicalensis group and progesterone group,the expression level of MMP-9 and survivin was no significantly difference(P>0.05).Conclution:A good experimental model that are.mice which were induced to abortion via gastrogavage RU486 that can block the combination of progesterone receptor,has an ideal abortive effect. Scutellaria baicalensis and progesterone could inhibit deciduae apoptosis to to prevent pregnant loss.
