The Identification Of Pathogens For 17 Fungal Diseases Of 14 Ornamental Plants

In this study, 14 kinds of common ornamental plants with disease spot were collected from Guangzhou area, which included Murraya paniculata, Cinnamomum burmannii, Osmanthus fragrans, Pachira macrocarpa, Bauhinia blakeana, Ervatamia divaricata, Dendrocalamus latiflorus, Celtis sinensis, Hymenocallis littoralis, Pritchardia gaudichaudii, Monstera deliciosa, Dendrobium nobile, Dendrobium officinale and Ficus microcarpa. Then, the fungal diseases of these plants were investigated and analyzed.Besides, the tissue isolation, pathogens culture, purification and pathogenicity identification were also conducted for the disease specimens under laboratory conditions in order to obtain 17 kinds of pathogenic fungus strains. Also, the species identification of these fungus strains was conducted through morphology and molecular biology method. The results were reported as follows:The pathogenic fungus of B. blakeana leaf blight, O. fragrans anthracnose, C.burmannii leaf spot, D. officinale anthracnose and F. microcarpa leaf spot belong to the Colletotrichum gloeosporioides;And the pathogenic fungus of P. gaudichaudii leaf blight and P. macrocarpa leaf blight belong to Alternaria sp.; The pathogenic fungus of E.divaricata rust disease belong to Puccinia engleriana;Also, the pathogenic fungus of D.latiflorus rust fungi belong to Puccinia sp.;The pathogenic fungus of M. deliciosa leaf spot disease belong to Phoma sp.;The pathogenic fungus of M. paniculata powdery mildew belong to the Erysiphe quercicola; The pathogenic fungus of Celtis sinensis powdery mildew belong to Pleochaeta shiraiana;The pathogenic fungus of D. nobile phytophthora disease belong to Phytophthora nicotianae;The pathogenic fungus of D. nobile epidemic disease belong to Colletotrichum boninense;Three pathogenic fungus isolated from H.littoralis leaf spot were the Fusarium oxysporum, Phoma sp.,Agaricaceae, respectively.Among them, the B. blakeana leaf blight caused by C. gloeosporioides was domestically reported for the first time. The E. divaricata caused by P. engleriana was first reported in Guangdong. The C. sinensis powdery mildew caused by P. shiraiana was first identified by molecular biology method. Besides, the graph of its morphological featureswas taken for the first time through using an optical microscope.
