The Remanufacturing In Valuable Components And Parts Of Marine Engine

The remanufacturing development in shipbuilding industry is relatively slow,especially the scale of marine diesel engine remanufacturing is still small compared with engineering machinery,machine tool equipment,military industry,aviation industry and other fields of remanufacturing.The technologies and process characteristics of "Dong's Iron Plating without Etching","Brush Plating" and "Cast Iron Special Welding " are introduced in brief in this paper as the base technology for marine diesel engine crankshaft,connecting rod and engine frame remanufacturing.One or more technology should be applied in a specific remanufacturing process.For example,when remanufacture a crankshaft only"Dong's Iron Plating without Etching Technology" is applied,but when remanufacture a broken engine frame both "Brush Plating Technology" and "Cast Iron Special Welding" will be applied.The common failure modes such as corrosion,wear,cracks,deformation,cavitation,crankshaft sleeve slip that happen in crankshaft,connecting rod and engine frame are introduced in this paper.At the same time the typical failure cases and detection methods and standards on the failure of the workpiece are briefly introduced.In order to verify the applicability and reliability of remanufacturing process,every 2 specific cases of crankshaft,con-rod and engine frame are selected for the remanufacturing verification in the paper.The conclusion is given in this paper that accurate initial state detection is the premise of the correct remanufacturing scheme,and the sufficient residual strength of the workpiece is the key condition for remanufacturing.Through proper remanufacturing process,the performance of the failed valuable components of the marine diesel engine can be restored,so as to achieve the goal of energy saving&emission reduction and cost reduction&efficiency improvement.
