With the rapid and large-scale development of the international automotive industry,the supervision and process design for the manufacturing of auto parts which is represented by engines have been more emphasized heavily recently,with which the measurement data is also getting more attention.It is can be said that high quality measurement data is the premise and basis for design,process validation,process control and product quality monitoring.While whether the measurement data is accurate and reliable,it must be pre-evaluated and confirmed.At present,Measurement System Analysis(MSA)has generally been accepted as the most effective tool for evaluating the quality of measurement data and measuring system capability by automotive manufacturing industry.As a MSA project leader of Weichai Power,the author processed comprehensive study and in-depth exploration on MSA in the past 15 years and realized the innovation of whole process and whole process in the whole company,which providing a comprehensive verification for the design and development of the new technology of the engine and closely monitoring of the bad variation in the manufacturing process.“Whole course” means the whole process of MSA operation from importing the concept of measurement system analysis,scheme design,measurement equipment configuration,process data validation and so on.“Whole technique” means the whole process in the route of engine development,such as casting,machining,heat treatment,assembly,test and so on.A large number of cases are used as challenging explorations and creative application for MSA like analyzing the repeatability and reproducibility of the measurement system by using the method of Xbar-R and ANOVA,determining the accuracy of the torque measurement system with the use of “t” test method,analyzing the stability for the irreversible,unrepeatable destructive measurement system by I-MR method,and determining the consistency of the counting type measurement with Kappa value-Cross-table method which lead the data processing and analysis done by the software and then veritably transfer the application of MSA from theory to practice.Based on 15 years of research and application on MSA project,the author chooses typical measurement system of engine manufacturing process as the main line,takes suitable analysis method to quantitative evaluate the characteristics of the measurement system for the process of casting,machining,assembly,and introduces the design scheme,operation process and evaluation criteria of all kinds of measurement system analysis in detail in the form of cases.Especially for the kinds of irreversible,non repeatable and even destructive measurement system,in the case of no specific guidelines are given in the MSA reference manual,the author creatively puts forward her own scheme design,evaluation standards and the actual verification results in order to provide a reference for the implementation of MSA in the automotive industry.
