With the development of economics and improvement of technologies,electronic books,which are occurred in response to proper conditions and time,have significant impact on traditional paper books.Nowadays,in order to attract more customers,manufacturers use complex decorations and luxury materials,as well as unnecessary printing technologies,which are over-packaging.It not only loses original cultural deposits of books,but also costs customers more on their each consumption.Furthermore,it goes opposite direction of sustainable economics development and eco-friendly packaging,which are mainstream ideas of the society.Based on the book packaging design object,Yangliuqing Paper Cut Set,the thesis will present and analyze thinking modes and characteristics of multi-function packaging design,in order to achieve diversification and ecologicalizationof book packaging with preconditions of minimizing costs of packaging and negative impact on environment.Key steps and methods are used as follow: Frist,analyzing and comparing domestic and overseas book packaging and understanding thinking modes and characteristics of modern booking packaging;Second,considering and analyzing materials,printing technologies of “Yangliuqing Paper Cut Set” with principles of eco-packaging design,based on points of degradable packaging materials,printing oil and technologies minimization.Third,considering visual elements,materials,multi-function and continuity of book packaging and seeking applicable and scientific multi-functional packaging for “Yangliuqing Paper Cut Set”.Above steps and methods will not only present charms of Chinese traditional folk paper cut,but also provide new design dimensions of book packaging for existing recourse wastes phenomenon due to over-packaging.
