With the improvement of the urbanization level, increasing land development, it brings traffic problems that have become increasingly significant and is an important factor restricting the development of city. Coordinating the relationship between land use and transportation systems, making scientific assessment, that is the key to solve the problem. Also, the transport impact assessment mechanism is implemented in this context.This paper is based on TransCAD transportation planning software for platforms, analysis of construction project by software on the surrounding traffic and traffic characteristics of impact parameter called flexible, rational use of methods and models, and address the key issues in the traffic impact assessment. Taking the Urumqi HUALING International Construction project for example, using the TransCAD focused on the key issues of the evaluation process, TransCAD Assessment results are compared with the traditional manual methods, explore the advantages of TransCAD transportation impact assessment process.Traffic impact assessment based on TransCAD has made the following studies:Using TransCAD transportation impact assessment process in traffic demand forecasting, public transport, road and traffic characteristics of key research, analyzed in detail the principles and processes for reasonable parameter configuration, focused on the methods and models, prediction and Assessment of scientific results.Taking the Urumqi HUALING International Construction project for example, TransCAD analysis results in each step are compared with the traditional manual method, found the advantages of using TransCAD analysis. And verified the TransCAD simple analysis of scientific rationality, practicality, and also got the traditional methods of artificial roughness reduction for traffic impact assessment to provide a favorable technical support.
