The Research On The Development Of Agricultural Modernization In Main Grain Producing Areas

Agriculture is the foundation of national economy and the development of secondary and tertiary industry, as part of the "four-modernization" synchronous development, agricultural modernization has an important role in promoting the modernization of our country. The main grain producing area is the main area of grain supply in China, how to realize the modernization of agriculture in major grain producing areas, is of great significance for the protection of national food security and social stability.This paper, based on the existing research results, combined with the actual situation of agricultural development in major grain producing areas, establishes the index system of agricultural modernization and tests its development level in major grain producing areas. Firstly, it collects and analyses the domestic and foreign agricultural modernization researches to determine the direction of agricultural modernization. Secondly, this article puts forward the definition of agricultural modernization according to the concept and the basic theory of agricultural modernization. Then, it defines the category of major grain producing areas and makes an analysis on the present situation of the research on agricultural modernization. Thirdly, this paper establishes the index system and the method of evaluations with respect to the principle of establishing the index system nowadays. Fourthly, it analyses present situations of major grain producing areas, calculating the development level of agricultural modernization by using analytical hierarchy process(AHP), and it also uses the index of qualitative and quantitative to analysis levels in different regional areas. According to the results, it analyses the factors which impact the capacity of food production in microscopic quantitative aspects, it is found that regional differences in each index. Fifthly, based on all above researches, it comes up with some targeted countermeasures and suggestions.The results show that the agricultural modernization level is in the initial stage, the agricultural investment is the largest contribution to the agricultural modernization, and the level of agricultural modernization is negatively related to the agricultural ecological environment index. The areas which their agricultural modernization levels from high to low are the east, the central and the west respectively. Among them, only the eastern part of the agricultural modernization level is higher than the overall level of major grain producing areas, the development of the agricultural modernization in the central region is slow, while the west is faster, and the level of agricultural modernization in the central and the west is in a convergent tendency. The level of agricultural modernization, agricultural investment and agricultural economic structure are in the development stage, the central and western regions are in the initial stage; other indicators of the eastern and western regions are in the initial stage. The eastern region is superior to the central and western regions in agricultural inputs, agricultural output, agricultural economic structure and rural social development, but the eastern region is lower than that of the central and western regions. Therefore, the main grain producing areas should change the way of agricultural development, adjust the agricultural structure, and take into account the characteristics of agricultural development in various regions, with a focus on the promotion of agricultural modernization.
