Private bank is often considered as one kind of banking business, which mainly serve for high wealth individual, offering them personalized and totalizing financial services. It is famous for its requirement of high personal asset, usually starting with 6 million yuan. Private bank originated in Europe and was introduced in China in recent years. With its short history in China, it still experienced rapid growth. As the competition getting fierce in private bank business, its services expanded beyond financial services alone. In the future, services such as family trust, global asset arrangement, global investment, property right organization, firm organization design, global tax design and family member arrangement will take up more space in private bank services to satisfy various need of its customer.This paper introduced the origination and development of private bank both abroad and domestic. Then it analyze the current condition of private bank sector in M bank, focusing on its strength and weakness, along with its opportunities and threats. Through those analysis the paper bring out the main problems M private bank faces and offered some solution.The content and structure of this paper are set as that, the first chapter is a brief introduction, mainly including the research background and theoratical and pracitcal meaning of this paper, the train of thought and methods, the innovation and shortcomings of this papaer. The second chapter is mainly about a comprehensive study of the strategic management of enterprises, including its theory foundation, history at home and abroad and its main stream of theory. The third chapter discuss the history of private bank and its development in M bank. The fourth chapter analysis the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats toward private bank in M bank, forms the SWOT analysis matrix, thus bring out the development strategy of private bank business in M bank, then further discuss the problems towards those strategies. The fifth chapter offers four major advices such as make clear of its position in competition, establish its own brand, improve its evaluation system and nurturing professionals.
