Land resources are the basis for urban development. Urban construction, social development and almost all the human production activities need to rely on land resources to carry out. Scarcity is a fundamental property of land resources, but with the growing population and economic development, the demand for land is increasing, which makes the scarcity of land resources more significant. For our country, we are facing the fact of shortage of land resources and food security. If we can use urban land resources rational and effective, to boost economic development and urban construction, is an important issue we are facing now. Therefore, the use of urban land intensive research is particularly important. Sichuan province, as a Resource-rich province, populous and economic province in the western development strategy in the country, has a pivotal position. Research on Land Intensive Use and Influence Factors of Sichuan Province can help find out not only the status of urban land use, understand trends and influencing factors, but also conducive to the implementation of the western development strategy. This paper stood a macro point, based on location theory and the theory of sustainable development and use factor analysis, hierarchical clustering method and the rank correlation coefficient method and other methods to evaluate the level of urban land in Sichuan Province from 2004 to 2013 and analyze variation and influencing factors. The results show that:(1) The level of urban intensive land use of 18 cities in Sichuan Province from 2004 to 2013 trends to fluctuated rise. It can be divided into three stages: it’s the first phase from 2004 to 2007, which is improved steadily; it’s the second stage from 2008 to 2010, which is rapidly increasing; it’s the third phase from 2011 to 2013, which is declining.(2) The cluster analysis results of urban intensive land use in Sichuan Urban: the first category includes Bazhong; the second category includes Ziyang, Meishan, Dazhou and Guang’an; the third category includes Deyang, Leshan,Yibin, Neijiang, Mianyang, Ya’an City, Luzhou,Nanchong, Guangyuan, Zigong and Suining; the fourth category includes Chengdu and Panzhihua.(3) The level of urban intensive land use of 18 cities in Sichuan Province from 2004 to 2013 floats as follows: First, there is a significant increase in the cities of Chengdu, Panzhihua, Guangyuan, Suining, Meishan, Guang’an, Deyang, Mianyang, Pakistan, Ziyang, Neijiang, Leshan, a total of 12 cities, which accounts for 66.7% of the total evaluation. Among them, Bazhong is the biggest one; second, there is a little increase in the cities of Yibin, Ya’ahn, Luzhou, Nanchong, a total of four cities, which accounts for 22% of the total evaluation; Third, there is’ t significantly reducing in the cities of Zigong and Dazhou, a total of two cities, which accounts for 11% of the total evaluation.(4)The impact of urban intensive land use in Sichuan Province include construction land area per capita, green area per capita, the urban population density, the number of employees per area, Total retail sales of social consumer goods per area, fixed asset investment per area and urban GDP per area. Among them, it is highly correlated to the level of urban intensive land use in construction land area per capita, green area per capita, the urban population density and the number of employees per area; it is moderate correlated to the level of urban intensive land use in total retail sales of social consumer goods per area, fixed asset investment per area and urban GDP per area.
