Mass Media’s Urban Narrative Under The View Of Daily Life

Evening News is the product of the city,at the same time,Evening News is a mirror,reflecting urban’ s daily life, Evening News’ construction of urban daily life is a way of “city Imagine", affecting people’s understanding about all aspects of city.In this paper, I take "Lanzhou Evening News"(1980-1991),reform and opening up in the early years, reflecting the daily life of articles,and reports as mainly research object, integrating background and research of Lanzhou city culture, using text interpretation way to explore in the beginning of reform and opening up,the transition period of the market economy has not completely rise, both of the character of"Evening News" and "organic news",Lanzhou Evening News "imagine" how a picture of daily life in Lanzhou city, and how cleverly using the discourse policy, and getting on public interact, so as to affect people’s perceptions and actions. Finally, I think of what role the media plays in the social development history process, having what effect.By researching on the "Lanzhou Evening News",the change of social atmosphere and the Lanzhou city business, entertainment, daily eating,I found that: "Lanzhou Evening News " not only expressed the fact by the relevant reports, recording changes in social life at the beginning of reform and opening up in Lanzhou,and shaping the level of rich, vivid and real picture of life in urban society and often use words policy, ideological guidance, etc., construction of social consensus, to play the role of social integration.And making efforts to influence people’s values and behavior;Facing unexpected events, Lanzhou Evening News reported facts, avoiding the doubt, play the role of social decompression valve; through the interaction with the public, the newspaper collection of opinions and views, not only play a catalytic role of the exchange,also became the agency between the audience and the city, and even promote the development of the social situation.In addition, by the urban narrative in beginning of reform and opening up in "LanzhouEvening News", I found: the news is media’s description of the environment,this makes the paper become directly history recorder;through reporting,local media display rich of local characteristics and local culture,this kind of reports constructed people’s cultural memory.At this level, the local mass media bears a sense of responsibility to shape the sense of place and construct a common cultural memory of the people.At the same time,Strengthening media’s sense of place can also be a way to spread the image of the city.
