Study On News Reports Of Xinjiang Daily In The 30 Years And 40 Years Of Reform And Opening-Up

Achievement report is an important subject of Chinese media.As a key concept of socialism with Chinese characteristics,the construction and process of China's reform and opening-up becomes the topic that mass media pays close attention to all the time.Doing reports well on achievements benefited from reform and opening up policy will play an important role in carrying forward the main theme,spreading positive energy,inspiring the strong force of the whole society to forge ahead in unity,and promoting the practice of China's reform and opening-up policy.Xinjiang,like other inland provinces(regions)and cities of China,located in the western part of the country,has stridden forward on the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics,and has undergone tremendous changes in political,economic,social,cultural and other aspects since the reform and opening-up.As the strategic barrier in western China,Xinjiang's social stability and long-term stability bear on the overall situation of national reform,development and stability,the national unity and national security of the motherland,as well as the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The reform,development and stability of Xinjiang have touched the hearts of people across the country.So the media coverage on Xinjiang is particularly noteworthy because of this.Study and reflect on the achievements of Xinjiang's reform and opening up is of great value and significance not only in academic discussion and theoretical research,but also in establishing the image of Xinjiang and displaying the achievements of Xinjiang with the help of the achievements of theoretical research.News is a second hand of history.Great changes in history are always recorded in the media by the communicators in various ways.In the era of convergence media,newspapers,radio,television,websites as well as new media have all become the common media to record historical events,and news coverage has become the general manner for media to record history.As the Party Committee's official newspaper,Xinjiang Daily plays a vital role in pushing forward the course of history of reform and opening-up.Taking Xinjiang Daily as an example,studying on such questions like how news give full play to the public opinion guiding function,which adequately shows brilliant achievements with profound changes of the areas north and south of the Tianshan Mountains,like how news fully report new measures and new explorations for the ongoing reform and opening-up in Xinjiang,how news coverage motivate people of all ethnic groups to promote the development process of reform and opening-up,the study process is of great theoretical research value for further reporting on reform and opening-up,and mobilizing children of Tianshan Mountains to feel the Party's grace and follow the Party's direction,unswervingly carrying the reform and opening-up policy through to the end as well as building a better Xinjiang.For such major historical events as reform and opening-up etc.,Xinjiang Daily generally selects “every five years” and “every decade time” to make highlighting reports.This paper takes the time before and after the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)as the time node,and selects the news coverage on the 30 and 40 years of reform and opening-up of Xinjiang Daily(2008 and 2018)as the research object.With text analysis and literature review method,the paper analyzes and summarizes the changes and characteristics of news reports of Xinjiang Daily in the past 40 years of reform and opening up with reference to the news reports of Xinjiang Daily in the past 30 years of reform and opening up,probes into the influencing factors,and gets some conclusion with enlightenment of doing such achievement reports well in the future.At present,most of the reports remain on the level of “what it is”,instead of that,this paper this paper creatively analyzes the reason “why” and “how to report” with innovative thinking.In essence,by exploring the innovative experience of party newspapers in reporting major achievements,this paper provides reference for party newspapers to consolidate and strengthen mainstream ideological and public opinion,and improve the dissemination power,guiding force,influence and credibility of news and public opinion in the context of media convergence.
