The different characteristics of men and women and their respective advantages determine the different points of the news articles and attention, it is important to guide public opinion. Based on the quantitative analysis of the data and the quality of in-depth interviews, the gender characteristics of Chinese journalists was analyzed comprehensively in this paper and obtains the following main conclusions:Firstly, The Chinese Journalism Award and the people award have a strong political characteristics in the selection results, which is reflected in the extremely low proportion of no post news workers in Changjiang & Taofen prize winners and in the fact that the winning entries of the Chinese Journalism Awards are often recommended by the larger news media.Secondly, For women, the gender disadvantage still exist, resulting in the gender role conflicts which bounds many women in the family and severely limit the career development of women, but a part of women also have other capital advantage.Thirdly, compared with the male, the female journalism prize winner takes a higher education background and a better growing environment.
