In the Western academic circles, Uses and Gratifications theory was known as "the most popular theory". In Chinese, Uses and Gratifications research suddenly rise up in recent years, and has become a hot spot in academic circles. However, when communication scholars are busy using this western theory, almost no one focus on the history, the development rules and theoretical advance in Chinese academic circles. Not to mention the reflection of local development. In order to fill this research blind area, as well as explore the suitable local research orientation, this paper focus on the local development and reflection of Uses and Satisfactions in Chinese mainland communication.About the framework of the study, this subject consists of three parts. The first part is about the background of Uses and Satisfactions in the Western world, including the social environment, basic hypothesis and nearly 15 years (2000-2015) new progress in the study of Uses and Satisfactions. These are important theoretical background and paradigm we should know before doing a Uses and Satisfactions research. The second part is to summarize when and how did Use and Satisfaction theory introduced to our country. In addition, this part summarize achievements in Chinese academic circles after comparing with western research status. Based on the review and the society condition of our country, this part also make a detailed reflection of Chinese research status. The third part will provide concrete suggestions, like inspecting of local psychological factors, revising western measurement tools, enhancing the social factors and so on, in order to promote the localization development of Uses and Gratifications research in China.
