3D printing is an important direction of advanced manufacturing technology, and it apply in various fields more and more widely, especially for complex, single batch manufacturing and processing part, 3D printing process has the incomparable advantages compared to traditional manufacturing. According to the post-processing technology of geometric model of 3D printing process, some related study is proposed in this paper, the concrete research content is as follows:(1) Optimal slicing orientation of part is studied. Firstly, according to the actual demand,considering part surface accuracy and build time calculates its objective function through the corresponding mathematical model; Secondly, obtaining fitness function according to the objective function, using the improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm calculates optimum part orientation and gets the Pareto-optimal set. Finally, a set of optimal slicing orientation is proposed in this paper.(2) Support generation for 3D printing process is researched. Firstly, according to the characters of triangles in the model geometry, Using search algorithm identifies support triangles,and then put them merge and optimization. According to the existing support area, adopting the method of neutral line calculates the vertex of support structure of end face and underside, using the right hand spiral method determines the direction of the support structure aspects, eventually forms the support structure.(3) Path generation of model is researched. Mixed filling path method is proposed, which uses line offset algorithm directly for outer contour of the model, and analyzes the phenomenon of the self- intersection and the breakpoint, using the method of line segment intersection point connects offset line effectively, for the breakpoint, extending the line segment intersection gets the intersection point, and the method can effectively generate the outer contour offset curve. For printing path transition, using the continuity properties of B-spline curves connects printing path effectively, and guarantees the smooth transition of joint.The algorithm based on VS2008 software platform in this paper implements the development of software modules in the layered direction and support generation and corner optimization of 3D printing, and through the actual processing, good results have been achieved.
