Since the rapid development of radar technology and the increasingly complicated battlefield, there is a much higher demand of radar structural design. Good mobility is an important characteristic of combating ability. Radar function(mechanical function and electronic function) is affected by the statics and dynamics characteristics. In this paper, the design of the overall structure, the mobility of the vehicle and the design of the important subsystem are researched. The effect of wind load on the radar function is calculated and analyzed.In the view of system integration, the radar is designed with complicated structures and a large number of equipments. According to the manufacture technical requirements and the design specification, the requirements are assigned to subsystem. Then, subsystem technical requirements and the design specification are made to guiding design work. Finally, all the subsystems are integrated into a unity. The requirements of reliability, maintain ability, system security and user-friendly are satisfied. At the same time, the radar system arrangement is reasonable and the appearance is strong and powerful.The important systems, such as the antenna, the microwave box, the antenna elevating subsiding machine etc. are calculated and designed in detail.Antenna structural design: subsystem composing, the parameters of stiffness and intensity calculations, the parameters of weight calculations.Microwave box structural design: thermodynamics calculations and analyses.Antenna elevating subsiding machine: structural type, subsystem composing, mechanics calculations and analyses, reliability and subsystem security design. Finally, all the requirements are satisfied.Finite element analysis is adopted. Different instances are taken into account, according to the calculations results, detailed designs are adjusted.Stiffness and intensity calculations: antenna pedestal shell, body of the microwave box.Mechanics calculations: horizontal adjustment subsystem, vehicle, elevating subsiding machine, antenna pedestal.Modal analysis: system typical instance, innate frequency.To the mobility, the level of radar automation improvement is the pivotal technique. All the actions(elevating & subsiding, turning, locking, etc.) are finished by the machines which are made up with mechanical, electronic and Hydraulic equipments.
