With the development of Facebook,the social networking site is coming into people’s view, it has become a new tool for interpersonal communication and bring a negligible influence on internet.In current years, the college students has become a major crowd in social networking site. As a part of college life,network has become the core bridge among college,families and interpersonal communication.This research focuses on the new phenomenon and want to explore the relationship bewteen the motivation,behavior and self-identity.In this way to give college students a guidance.In this research, we regard the college students as the research object. First of all,to collect some psychology,communication studies and the previous findings.Then,to understand the characteristics of social networking site and to established a motivation model.There are four kinds of variales in this model:1、control variables include gender,grade,subject and other demographic characteristics.2、independent variables include motivation and behavior.3、mediate variables include self-disclosure,and use these variables to measure the relationship between motivation and self-identity.4、dependent variables include self-identity.This research use paper questionnaire and online questionnaire to investigate uesrs.There are 15 college students join the interview,and use SPSS18.0 statistics software to analysis 216 questionnaires.Research results show some assumptions, and get the following main conclusion:(1)In terms of motivation,the three main motivation are convenience motivation,social communication motivation and hot concern motivation.The business information motivation,social development motivation and search motivation are not very important.There have a big difference between users and motivation.(2)In terms of behavior,the social networking site has been widely used by college students,and their behavior has become more rational.The proportion of the use time is not high,most users are still in a very low level.(3)In terms of different behavior between male and female,more male users have a high frequency on social networking site. As the same time,more male users like to participate the discussion and willing to talk actively.(4)In terms of motivation, behavior and self-identity influence,there are eight motivation correlated to the self-identity and have a huge impact on it.The most significant motivation is social motivation.Only participation and self-identity have relationship among the three dimensional behavior.(5)In terms of the influence between self-disclosure and self-identity,users’ motivation and behavior will affect the self-identity. For now, the level of self-identity about college students in Chengdu is still very low,it need a further development.
