Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) is a kind of wireless communication technology and one of the key technologies of Internet of Things(IoT).It has many advantages of small size, fast speed, strong anti-interference ability, and high security etc.. At present,the RFID technology has been widely applied in various fields such as people’s daily life and industrial production.This system uses STM32 microcontroller and MF RC522 integrated RF read-write chip, completing the design of a 13.56 MHz RFID card reader, and realizing the communication between the host computer and the card reader through RS232 serial port by writing PC interface using LabVIEW software.This paper the first introduces the current situation of RFID technology development and the significance of the research; the second summarizes the operational principles, the technical features, standard and protocol of RFID technology; the third describes in details the main features and structural principles of the STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller and MF RC522 chip used in the design; the fourth emphatically illustrates the development method of card reader system STM32 and MF RC522 based on RFID, including the MCU, RF antenna, card reading, the hardware and software designing of interface communication with the host computer;the fifth analyzes the results of functional test of the reader, and the future work is forecasted.
