Decentralized control method using related structure constraint information for large scale interconnected system has caused the attention of lots of scholars both at home and abroad. Overlapping robust decentralized control becomes one of the main directions of the control method mentioned above. For this kind of research problem, overlapping decentralized control for interconnected large scale systems with special structure is studied in this paper based on dynamic output feedback. And this method is applied to the automatic generation control(AGC) of the interconnected power systems.The inclusion principle is just proposed based on the theory of structure constraint information. In this paper, based on the inclusion principle the method is proposed to deal with the special structure including longitudinal structure, radial structure and loop structure. Three robust overlapping decentralized control methods based on dynamic output feedback are designed for each of large scale interconnected systems with special structure mentioned above. Following each method, firstly, the interconnected system with special structure is decomposed according to special overlapping structure decomposition using inclusion principle of large scale systems. Secondly, the original space is expanded, and a series of pair-wise subsystems are obtained in the expanded space. Then, the robust decentralized controllers based on dynamic output feedback for each pair-wise subsystem are designed using LMI method and Lyapunov theory. Finally, overlapping decentralized control laws of the original system are obtained by contracting the controllers to the original space, and make the systems robust connectively stable.There are two innovation points: applying the dynamic output feedback method and improvement of the contract method while the original method can not be applied to this output controller in this paper.The proposed method can avoid the difficulty in solving LMI with high dimension led by too many subsystems. It is applied to AGC control design of a many-area interconnected power system with special structure. And the simulation results are compared with the one using LMI method directly. The results show that the performances of the designed controllers using proposed method are better. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method is proved.
