Environment monitoring system aims to acquire environmental parameters through sensor, analysis the data and make decision. ZigBee is a short-range wireless communication technology, and it has the advantages of low power consumption, low cost and large capacity, which overcomes the disadvantages of traditional environment monitoring system which is difficult to layout, and not intelligent. This thesis design the wireless sensor network environment monitoring system based on ZigBee technology.Wireless sensor network acts as data wireless transceiver and task processor in the environmental monitoring system. Firstly, this thesis introduces the IEEE802.15.4, ZigBee network protocol and network topology. Then analyzes the function of the environment monitoring system and builds the overall design. This article adopts CC2530chip as sensor network node of the wireless communication, completes the design of ZigBee RF module and peripheral circuit. We choose IAR Embedded Workbench as software development tool. after exploring the mechanism of protocol Stack, addressing mode and ZigBee network, we program for the ZigBee coordinator and terminal nodes respectively and realize the ZigBee network. And then we complete design of data communication protocol and PC monitoring software.Finally, we test power consumption of the network terminal node and estimate the life of the node. We evaluate data transmission quality through testing packet loss rate of data between nodes.
