DWDM is a new technology in optical communication technology in recentyears, which has been used more and more widely. DWDM number of channel was8and16, and has developed to32,40and160. With the IP service of telecom industrygrowing, the point of growth from the communication industry has changed fromtelephone service as the representative of communication service to data service asthe representative of information service. DWDM solves the basic problems of thetraditional telecommunication services and long-distance transmission of largecapacity. Long distance DWDM transmission technology,because of saving electricrelay equipment, can greatly reduce the cost of investment, improve the transmissionquality and reliability of the system, with upgrading potential and convenientmaintenance characteristics.This paper introduces the historical background of DWDM optical transportnetwork, analyzes its basic principle of DWDM, and then focuses on the keytechnologies and devices of DWDM. Finally, the configuration and system ofNingxia transmission network project are analyzed and designed in detail.
