At the age of new media, enormous visual symbols are employed in the boundless online world, where there shows us various kinds of dazzling or disconsolate visual symbols. The number and range of visual symbols are far larger and wider than any previous era, and we seem to be surrounded by visual symbols. Based on visual tendency of network culture, combing with survey results on the network and abundant literature review, this paper attempts to make some cultural interpretation on cultural environment of current network from audience’s perspective.This paper firstly discusses concepts of new media, visual symbols and etc, and analyzes elements of visual symbols including "connotation","communication environment","communication status" and "specific events" in the context of new media. After combing basic research background and main concepts, this paper focuses on the analysis of audience’s interpretation on specific cases, and the third chapter elaborates audience’s interpretation in different dimensions and specific cases. In the fourth chapter of the paper, combing with the knowledge of communication and of social psychology, this paper attributes underlying causes of audience interpretation to the thoughts of network cultural connotations. Finally, on the basis of previous chapters, the paper attempts to explore the association of audience and times and the whole current network and cultural background.The purpose and significance of this paper lie in the elaboration of visual elements on the network, the exploration of audience interpretation and the analysis of network culture, which will be conducive to the profound analysis of overall current network and social culture.
