Study On Project Management Of Book Publication

After the transforming into enterprises, publication units have to cope with theincreasingly fierce competition, and need to find a way to improve the efficiency of publishingmanagement. The successful application of project management in engineering constructionand IT industry make people consider the possibility of book publishing project management.Although the book publishing project management is comparatively mature abroad, theresearch and practice is still at primary stage in China. This paper aims to integrate the bookpublishing organization, optimize the book publishing process, by combining projectmanagement with book publication, using the tools of project management to control the time,the quality, the cost, and improve the efficiency of book publishing.In this paper, the project management, book publishing, and book publishing projectmanagement theory are introduced. From the perspective of the organization and publicationprocess, the advantages and disadvantages of general book publishing management areanalyzed, the book publishing project management is considered to be feasible and have theadvantage, but in practice the special nature need to take into account. The focus of this paperis the construction of book publishing project management mode, firstly set up the basicframework from aspects of the project objectives, project team and project steps, and then usethe WBS to define the book publishing project scope, and the progress planning and control,quality planning and control, cost estimation and control are researched. Finally, the researchresults are verified through a book project case and the experiences accumulated.
