Since the new century, the communication technology which mainly includes networktechnology and digital technology has a rapid development, it has brought many significantchanges in the field of communication;view the history of human communication, we can seethat information technology plays a critical role on the development of human condition; innowadays, the Fifth Media’s appearring is the response to the technology.The new media’s development, which let people lie in the information era; the newmedia as mobile phone as the network media has been integrated into all aspects of people’slives, changed the mode of communication and the way of existence of human society, theimpact of media on us has been already very profound.However, the technology has advantages and disadvantages that determines the impact tous such as "Faust" trading. At the same time it creates a new social "stubborn"--"mediadepends on disease", the main symptoms are the audience who extremly use the media, suchas spiritual dependence and instrumental dependence, without the new media, they will beunaccustomed, even appearring the withdrawal reactions."Network Man","Mobile PhoneMan" is "media depends on disease" patients with typical representative, they have beenalienated and controlled by media in a very great degree.Recent years’ CNNIC researches indirectly show that, among the "media dependency"groups, the largest of Internet population is teenagers-group; and amang it is the colledgestudents in the first.Nowadays, the college students grow up and develop under the new media environment,they have a more close relationship with the new media; morever, the unique environment ofuniversity also provides a "hotbed" for their use, and the college students’ lack of medialiteracy even other factors, which makes a large part of college students learning, living in thenew media environment, and always enjoy it; such as information acquisition, socialcommunication, entertainment and leisure which are depending on new media to complete. The media dependency has produced a great disturbance on their lives, their thinking pattern.Whitch is very negative for their healthy growth and normal socialization.In view of the college students’media dependency phenomenon, this research willchsimultaneously draw support from Difler and Boroch’s "Media Dependency Theory" in1976, and intersperse with psychology,communication, sociology and other disciplinestheories, interview relevent research, finally puts forward some intervention strategies feasibleto avoid college students "media dependence" generation and diffusion effectively; as long aspromoting a healthy living place.This study is divided into six parts:The first part makes some introduction, such as the origin, the significance of the topic,literature review and research scheme.The second part is the phenomenon of college students’media using situation, putforward the phenomenon of their Media Dependency.The third part is the analysis of Media Dependency’s reason, causes of College Students’media dependency from three aspects as the subject and the object, the ring body.The fourth part is the influence of college studens’media dependency in their learning,livelihood, and ideology.The fifth part is the countermeasure of adjustment, from four aspects as subject, media,society and media ecosystem.The sixth part is the summary, which sums up the thesis research, finnaly makes someprospect.
