It is generally recognized in the industry that master data management is an important means of enterprise data governance and management, and the accuracy, consistency and integrity of the enterprise data can be effectively guaranteed through the implementation of master data management, and also it can provide a unique "data facts" for the enterprise, thus it can laya solid foundation for the deep development and use of the enterprise data architecture, data integration, data assets depth development.M group, after years of informatization construction, has established the correspondingbusiness application system in various business areas, and improved their ability of businessoperations by using these business systems effectively. But after the operations of the businesssystem over a period of time, a large number of business data will be accumulated in thesystem. In addition, with the years of business development mechanism of M group, Manyproblems have arisen in the management of data. Firstly, the master data standard is notunified, and data information cannot be shared; secondly, the quality of master data is nothigh leading to failure of providing reliable date information to decision-makers; thirdly,themanagement of master data organization is fragmented and they act on their own free will.Moreover,the data repeating and conflict made it difficult to realize unified system.Theseproblems to some extent has restricted the realization of "one enterprise, a system, a standard"put forward by M group in recent years, and has restricted the further development of globalinformationization strategy.The present paper has carried out beneficial exploration and research on master datamanagement theory, master data design, master data management platform construction andso on, and has studied the data status and needs analysis of M group enterprise master data,the project design and management platform prototype system design.
