The Research On The Social Function Of Chinese Television In-depth Reporting

Since1980s when TV in-depth reporting has been grown up dramatically in china,the socialfunction it carries is paid a lot attention by media in both theory and practice.From the aspect ofsocial function,this study is going to discuss TV in-depth reporting’s evolution,traditional role ofwatchdog and multiple development,in order to find out its social function landscape and furtherdevelopment.The study applies document and historical analysis,trying to redefine.TV in-depthreporting,its category and function evolution.Meanwhile,using content analysis and casestudy,this paper mainly discuss the historical change and current situation of China TV in-depthreporting when achieving is social function. trying to change it’s single role of watchdog anddialysis its overall function.In brief,this study aims at changing TV in-depth reporting’s social function and finding itsforming reasons,and confirming the multiple development of social function.Among,the mainbody is to discuss that TV in-depth reporting’s social function landscape is the combination ofmobilization,publicity and guidance,watchdog,social early-warning,construction of spiritualvalues and knowledge communication,which eventually come to the function of publicservice.The future prospect tries to find out the rise of construction of spiritual values,whichmarks the new direction of development of TV in-depth reporting’s social function in the new era.
