With the rapid development of radio technologies, the worldwide demand for radio spectrum is increasing, which makes the invisible carrier used to transmit and exchange information increasingly tense. Electromagnetic environment tends to deteriorate with the increasing of the radio interface, which put forward higher requirements for the radio spectrum resource management and monitoring work. In order to safeguard the airwaves order, fully utilize and protect the radio spectrum resources, and improve the scientific management level, mastering a certain area of the electromagnetic environment is essential. Therefore, how to reasonably use and scientifically manage spectrum resources, monitoring electromagnetic environment efficiently and conveniently is becoming a realistic issue for radio supervision. Electromagnetic environment monitoring and management refer electromagnetic environmental assessment. Environmental assessment is based on electromagnetic field strength prediction. However, the key of field strength prediction relies in the choice of radio wave propagation models. Therefore, this study starts with the propagation model to predict field strength, and ultimately realizes the evaluation of complex electromagnetic environment. The main research contents include the following:(1) In a complex electromagnetic environment, Okumura-Hata model, Longley-Rice model and COST-231model are studied with visual simulation from modeling, propagation prediction to the analysis of results.(2) Using Visual C#. Net visual development tools to construct the model of propagation prediction integrated simulation environment and demonstration system.(3) The complexity of the electromagnetic environment is assessed using transmitting station information and monitoring data based on electromagnetic propagation models.
