With the popularityof high definitioncameras and high definition sonars are usedin ocean explore. These devicesrequire higher and higher data transfer rate.Underwater acoustic communication is most importantin traditional underwatercommunication field.Because of its low frequency, it can’t be used in high speedcommunication field. Because of short communication distance in thewater,electromagnetic wave also can’t be used in underwater communication field. Inthis paper we propose a new underwater communication method. In sea water thereis a blue-green window, through this window light has a low attenuation. This is ourtheoretical basis.In this paper we design a488nm laser underwater wireless communication system.This system use laser diode as transmitter, PMT as receiver. In this paper we do theseworks as follows: First, through look up technical literature, we know the mostimportant factor influence optical communication performance is scattering. Then,we design a laser communication system and make its parameters satisfy differentsignals need. Next, we use this system to transmit Analog Audio, digital charactersand Analog video signals. Through this experience we prove this system has highlypractical value.In the last we analyze the data of these experiences andmake a plan for thefuture’s development.
