Media has played an important role on the construction of the images of other countries in the international communications. In recent years, the trades between China and the Philippines added, while the dispute on the South China Sea also became fiercer. It has realistic and theoretic significances to have a study on the Philippine mainstream media’s construction of China’s image. This thesis chose747reports on China from Daily Inquirer during the period of2010to2013, and analysis the total quantity, the issue frames, the arguments of framework and the trend of the issues, At the macro level, Daily Inquirer reported China in all directions, but place emphasis on issues have direct interests with the Philippines, such as the territorial dispute. In the part of reporting frame, a discourse analysis has been carried on a optionally-chosen report text in terms of theme, structure and key words, with a micro-view to comprehend that the Philippines’ mainstream media is adept in building specific context to make the report appear "objective and fair". But China’s image presented negative under this framework. And this kind of frame is linked to the influences of history, political, economy, emotion and the American factor. China should work a lot on promoting mutual communication of the mainstream media between China and the Philippines and enhancing global voice.
