College counselors’ vocational competence develops with times, which is a long-term systematic engineering. Nowadays, China is in the social transition period and many fields of our society are developing, such as politics, economy, culture and so on. In terms of college counselors, social transformation and development have influence on some policies about the development of college counselors, the construction of college campus, college students’ development and the vocational development of college counselors, which also have impact on college counselors’ vocational competence. Therefore, this paper researches the training of college counselors’ vocational competence basing on the social transition period.This research has five parts. This first part is the introduction. The introduction includes the statement of the core topic of this research, the definition of the important conceptions, the review of correlation literature, the statement of research methods and the research thinking, the difficult points of the research and the innovations to the research. The goal of this part is to clarify the whole outline of the research and as the basement to the main part of the research. The second part is the components of college counselors’ vocational competence. Analyzing the components is based on the influence of social transition period to factors, namely policy guidance, the construction of college campus, the challenges college students facing and the vocational development of college counselors. Then analyzing the characteristics of college counselors’ vocational competence is by comparing with college counselors’ vocational competence in the non social transition period. The third part analyzes the present situation of college counselors’ vocational competence by using the questionnaire method and spss 19.0. The fourth part is analyzing the problems of college counselors’ vocational competence during the social transition period basing on the survey of the current situation to college counselors’ vocational competence and other research materials. Analyzing the reasons to these problems is also an important of this part. The fifth part researches the measures to train college counselors’ vocational competence during the social transition period, which is based on the fourth part and other correlated materials.
