The Study Of The Comparative Sentences Of Wufeng Dialect In Hubei Province

Wufeng dialect of Hubei Province belongs to the Southwest Mandarin. Comparative sentences of Wufeng dialect have many characteristics.The so-called comparative sentence is a kind of sentence which expresses comparative meaning, form certain sentence by related comparative parameter and get the corresponding difference by syntactic power. According to different semantics and forms features, comparative sentences of Wufeng dialect contain three types: Tantamount Comparative Sentence, Discriminating Comparative Sentence and Extreme Comparative Sentence.Tantamount Comparative Sentence contains“般般儿”、“赶/敌”and“不得比”etc. Discriminating Comparative Sentence contains marked Discriminating Comparative Sentence and unmarked Discriminating Comparative Sentence.According to forms of expression, Extreme Comparative Sentence contains six types.Compared with the three kinds of comparative sentence, Tantamount Comparative Sentence and Extreme Comparative Sentence are the most special types. They have many syntactic features that Mandarin does not have the similar, such as "赶得到”、“赶不到”、“敌得到”、“敌不到”、“到顶”etc. These are worthy of further study.
