Master Yin Guang, widely known as the thirteenth generation Nichiren Buddhism, is the representative figure of the contemporary pure land school. This paper tries to make exploration and analysis on the Master Yin Guang’s book "Master Yin Guang Wen Chao, Three Series of Augmented". The paper is divided into four parts. The paper first seeks to find out the historical background of the integration of Confucianism Confucianism. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, due to the spread of western thoughts, Confucianism and Buddhism are both under serious impact hence their influence has been weakened. Under such background, revitalization of Buddhism can only be achieved through revolution. Master Yin Guang put forward that Buddhism and Confucianism have points overlap in the field of worldly philosophy therefore integration of them will only benefit the development of each other. The second part of the paper elaborates on the main idea of the integration of Confucianism and Buddhism. Master Yin Guang refuted Neo-Confucianism for merely focusing on mental and neglect the karma in three lives. The Master advocated the integration of Confucianism and Buddhism on the family education, filial piety, loyalty, benevolence and righteousness and put forward that this will help build not only a better society but also a path to western bliss. The third part focuses on the positive role of the Masters thoughts. The integration of the two religion provides theoretical foundation and support from the followers for the contemporary Pure Land School, infusing fresh air into a world where morality has been rotten. The fourth part finally discuss the possible lessons from the Master’s thoughts. In modern society where seeking material comes first, social morality is in desperate need for revolution. The Yin Guang Master’s thoughts and his behavior itself set a good example in such background. However, new obstacles have appeared in the new environment for the development of Buddhism. The preach of Buddhism calls for new forms and also exploration on new technology.
