This translation report mainly discusses the translation practice of United Nations documents while interning at Beijing Peace Carbon Environmental Technology Ltd. The source materials are the United Nations documents on Clean Development Mechanism Project Cycle Procedure including the project design, validation and registration, monitoring, verification and issuance of Clean Mechanism Development project. The report is based on the features of the documents and aims to emphasize the importance of choosing the adequate translation strategies. The translators should accumulate the background and professional knowledge in the daily life. This report includes five parts: Part One is the project introduction, including the project background, objectives and structures of the report; Part Two is an introduction of the source documents:their source, main content and the linguistic features; Part Three includes the difficulties of the translation practice and the relative criteria; Part Four discusses necessary preparations for the translation and strategies used in the course of translation, including Functional Equivalence Theory by Eugene A.Nida and skills for the translation,such as sequential method,variable order method and the phrasing of translation; and the last part, Part Five is the conclusion, where the crucial role of translation practice is discussed in the improvement of translation competence, the experience accumulated in this project, and possible ways to improve the translation capabilities.
