| Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of double suction drainage method to treat the oral and maxillofacial multi-space infections. Methods:We collected 30 cases of oral and maxillofacial multi-space infected patients, which come from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of First Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi Medical University in the period of September 2013 to September 2015, and analyzed retrospectively the treatment effect. Among the all 30 cases, 20 patients accepted the treatment of traditional incision and drainage method(control group), while other 10 patients used the double suction drainage method( experimental group). all the patients of two groups accepted sensitive antibiotics treatment according to the bacterial culture of pus. Two groups were compared infection healing time and situation. 30 case of patients with maxillofacial multi-space infection were taken pus bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test.Results:1.The average healing time of control group and experimental group was statistically significant(P = 0.043),The efficient was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).2. The pain before treatment of control group and experimental group was no statistically significant(P = 0.337), The pain in treatment and after treatment wasstatistically significant(P<0.001 and P=0.002).3.The time of dressing change of control group and experimental group was no statistically significant(P = 0.159),Antibiotic use days were statistically significant(P=0.014).Conclusion:1.For the treatment of oral and maxillofacial multi-space infections, the method of double suction drainage, compared to traditional method of drainage, has shorter healing time and lower paining of in treatment and after treatment.2. For the treatment of oral and maxillofacial multi-space infections, the method of double suction drainage is good, it doesn’t cause local infection, and is worth generalizing in clinic. |
