Objective:1.Objective to investigate the source of infection, pathogenic bacteria, susceptible population and accompanying complications in patients with maxillofacial and cervical multiple infection, and to explore the etiology, susceptible population, and to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of the disease.2.The patients with diabetes mellitus and severe complications were screened and their correlations were analyzed to provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of severe maxillofacial and neck space infection.3.To evaluate the efficacy of VSD in the treatment of severe maxillofacial and cervical infection, and to provide a theoretical basis for clinical treatment. Methods: 1.To collect the general data of 149 cases of infected patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University during2011.5-2016.5,and analyze the source of infection of maxillofacial space infection, pathogenic bacteria, susceptible population and diagnostic methods.2.Screening patients with severe underlying disease, according to the patient’s treatment plan, evaluate the efficacy of different programs. Results: 1.149 cases of maxillofacial space infection including 83 male and 66 female, male to female ratio was 1.26:1.The grup of older men was the susceptible populations. The infection source was odontogenic and accounted for 62.42% of the cases. The pathogenic bacteria was Streptococcus and accounted for 26.07% of the cases.Submandibular space was the most commonly involved gap and accounted for 63.73% of the cases.2.There were 35 patients with multiple infection of maxillofacial region,in which there were 18 cases were traditional group, the others were improved group added the treament plan of use VSD.The mean of WBC has no significance between improved group with traditional group before operation(P > 0.05).Both of the index present a downward trend after treatment. The decrease of improved group more than the traditional group, and the result has significance(P < 0.05).2.The Hospitalization days of the improved group and traditional group difference has significance(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.In the cases of maxillofacial space infection,The grup of older men was the susceptible populations. The infection source was odontogenic, thepathogenic bacteria was Streptococcus.Submandibular space was the most commonly involved gap.2.There was no significant relationship between diabetes mellitus and maxillofacial space infection.3.The method of using vacuum sealing drainage in the treatment of the seriously multi-space infection in head and neck has obtained good curative effect, which not only can quickly decrease the inflammation index to control severe infection, but also reduce the hospitalization days of patients and make painless to patients.
