Objective:The study aimed at design a scientific and objective"Knowledge, attitude and education needs of medical students for patient safety questionnaire" by Delphi And conduct a preliminary application.Survey the knowledge, attitude and education needs and factors for patient safety in three medical university undergraduates of Shanxi province.Provide preliminary recommendations for the promotion of medical students in the further development of patient safety education.Methods:The first stage:Questionnaire,the study on the basis of a large number of domestic and foreign literature inspection.The subject group discussed and selected 22 experts to consult and formed the "knowledge, attitude and education needs of medical students for patient safety questionnaire". Using Experts positive coefficient, the authority coefficient, coefficient of variation, coordination coefficient and other indicators to test he reliability and representation of expert advice.The second stage:Investigation. Survey 1247 undergraduates in three medical university of Shanxi province.And understand the patient safety education status of the province and its influencing factors.Use Excel 2010, SPSS 17.0 software to analyze the results. The general object of study data using descriptive analysis, knowledge, attitudes score using (x±s) description, demand using percentage description, influence factors were analyzed by t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis, P<0.05 considered as statistical significance.Results:1. Positive coefficient of two round expert consultation were 84.62% and 100%, Authority coefficient of experts were 0.85.After two round expert consultation,each entry with the central tendency of obviously, good coordination. Eventually form "knowledge, attitude and education needs of medical students for patient safety questionnaire"2. Investigation and analysis the status of patient safety in three medical university undergraduate education in Shanxi. Medical students in patient safety knowledge mean score (8.32±1.87) points; average score of attitude was (72.87±7.66) points. There was a positive correlation (r= 0.163, P<0.001) between knowledge and attitudes of medical students in patient safety.Factors affecting knowledge were grade and school (P=0.002, P<0.001). In terms of educational needs:92.78% of the students believe that his knowledge of the patient safety needs to be strengthened, there are 56.29% of the students believed that patient safety education should be carried from school to clinical work,and most students want to use close clinical teaching methods.Conclusion:Medical colleges should be based on their own circumstances and put patient safety content rational integration into the current curriculum system, with teaching hospitals, to improve the patient safety education of medical students.
