| Object: To investigate the expression of Nestin in prepuces of different shapes and ages.Methods: Totally 36 samples of prepuce were divided into 18 samples of phimosis and 18 samples of abundant prepuce.Under the condition of erection of penis, all patients with abundant prepuce can leak out a part of glans or can’t completely leak out,all patients with phimosis can’t leak out their glans, but there is no adhesion between the inner plate and the glans. The infection factors were excluded in all patients, because it may affect the results of the experiment. Two experimental subjects were divided into different groups from the point of view of clinical treatment, 6-13 age group,14-16 age group, 17-20 age group and >20 age group. The expression of nestin was detected in all samples of prepuce with immunohistochemistry. The expression of nestin was compared in different age groups in abundant prepuce and phimosis. Due to the sample was too little, so 17-20 age group and >20 age group was combined, the expression of nestin in14-16 age group was compared with <14 age group and >16 age group.Results: Compared with other age groups, a relative low level of nestin expression in phimosis and abundant prepuce was revealed in group of the age of 14- 16, the difference of nestin expression between phimosis and abundant prepuce shows no significance at the same age groups. The expression of nestin between phimosis and abundant prepuce before 14 age was higher than 14-16 age group, the difference is obviously significant(p=0.000, 0.048). The expression of nestin between phimosis and abundant prepuce after 16 age was also higher than 14-16 age group, the difference is also obviously significant(p=0.043, 0.026).Conclusion: Nestin might not play an important role in formation of different shapes of prepuce in different age groups. But the level of nestin expression in prepuce might be closely related to the aging factor of males. |
