Students’ health literacy status based on the demographic characteristics is that:the boy’s overall health literacy level is higher than girls; senior student’s overall health literacy level is higher than the juniors; the overall health literacy level of higher vocational medical students and grade have statistical significance. The higher the grade is, the better level of the overall health literacy.Students’ overall health literacy level and gender have no statistical significance, none do census register, monthly cost of living, parents’ education and their own health status. By Logistic regression analysis, the study finds that grade and the census register may be the main factors affecting college students’ health literacy levels, such as senior students’ health literacy level are higher than juniors; the health literacy level of student from the city is higher than rurals. Students have obvious diaparities in terms of three dimensions and six types questions of health literacy. Spearman rank correlation analysis shows that there are significant pairwise correlations among health knowledge, healthy lifestyle and behavior, and health skills; in terms of six types questions of health literacy, there are significant pairwise correlations among scientific view of health literacy, prevention of infectious diseases literacy, prevention of chronic disease literacy, safety and first aid literacy, basic health literacy, and health information literacy except safety and first aid literacy and prevention of chronic disease literacy. Conclusions:The boy’s overall health literacy in higher vocational medical college is higher than girls. Imbalance developments are existed in three dimensions, especially the lack of health knowledge and concept. There are significant differences in the level of literacy in six types of health-related problems, in which the prevention of chronic disease literacy is very low. Grade and census register may be the main factors affecting college students’health literacy levels. In view of the above research results, appropriate corresponding measures should be taken to improve students’health literacy.
