Objective:To explore a better method of treating insomnia with the type of fire derived from stagnation of liver-qi by observing the clinical effect of superficial needling combined with auricular point sticking and oral estazolam. Methods:According to the diagnostic and inclusion criteria, exclusion criteria, we chose 60 cases of insomnia of fire derived from stagnation of liver-qi type. They were randomly assigned into the treatment group and the control group. Each group included 30 cases. The control group received oral estazolam. Treatment group was treated with superficial needling combined with auricular sticking. They were treated for two courses which course included ten days. Observe the subjects before and after treatment of PSQI, SAS, WHOQOL-BREF scores change and curative effect evaluation.Results:1. Baseline assessment:Before the intervention, there was no significant difference between the two groups of patients in general, such as gender, age, course of disease, the two groups were comparable (P>0.05).2. The PSQI score result:After comparing the scores of the two groups of PSQI, the groups had significant difference on sleep time, sleep efficiency and daytime function, total score (P<0.05).The other groups had no significant difference on the scores(P>0.05).3. The SAS score result:After treatment, the SAS scores of two groups were lower than before. And comparing between the same groups, the scores had significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the SAS scores had no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05).4. WHOQOL-BREF score result:Before treatment each score project of two groups had no obvious difference (P>0.05).Two groups were comparable. After the treatment each score project of treatment group was obviously difference when comparing with before treatment (P<0.05). The control group had no significant difference when comparing with itself before treatment, except the field of physiological score. At the end of the treatment, the comparison between the two groups found only on the physical field had significant difference (P<0.05), the scores of other items had no difference (P> 0.05).5. Therapeutic evaluation:After treatment, the two groups had no significant difference on therapeutic evaluation. Total effective rate was 72.41% in treatment group, and 75.86% in control group. Conclusion:Superficial needling combined with auricular point sticking is effective on treating inso-mnia with the type of fire derived from stagnation of liver-qi. It’s better than oral estazolam on improving sleep time, sleep efficiency, day time function, total score and physiology field. It has no adverse reactions.
